"June" by Miranda Beverly-Whittemore

I just finished the book “June” by Miranda Beverly- Whittemore. This is now my second book sent to my by Blogging for Books in exchange for an honest review. This book took me a lot longer to finish and I delayed writing this review because I couldn’t really pinpoint anything wrong with it. The character debth is great, the story was amazing and the cliffhangers were perfect. And yet I would get three pages in and my eyes would glaze over or I’d start mentally planning my grocery list. Bad right? Well I finally figured it out. The author was wordy. Plain and simple. Do I really need a full page description of how June and Jack looked at each other from all points of view? No I did not. But that is just me and I’m not going to hold that against Ms. Whittemore.
Now despite the wordings I just complained about, I have to say that this book was inspired. The book features two primary story lines that later finish off in a secondary story. The authors use of the house as a sort of narrator was the most amazing element in this book. I loved that the houses story wove the past and present stories together.
The love story between June and Jack so artfully woven together as the house reveals it to Cassie in dreams and as cassie research continues along is just beautiful. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who loves a good feel good romance. Just remember to muscle through when it gets too wordy. It’s worth it!
