I just finished reading Empire of Storms by Sarah J Maas. This book was fantastic! For those who have read the previous books in the Throne of Glass series, this book will not disappoint you! For those who have not read the series, start at book one! If you like urban fantasy you will love this series. Really this author in general.
Okay so back to the review. This book is split into multiple intertwined stories. We continue on with Manon and her thirteen and really see an unlikely heroin emerge from her story- really two as Elide starts out in this portion of the book. Speaking of Elide. This girl rocks! She has absolutely nothing going for her but this girl is amazing beyond belief. I am really loving this love interest thing she has going on as well. I won't tell you who!
Meanwhile we have Aelin, Rowan, and their court. I am a suckered for urban romance and thsee two have it! I love all of the stolen moments between Aelin and Rowan. We see all of the fiery passion in both of them throughout this book yet somehow it does not diminish the action and suspense.
Overall, it great to finally start getting to know all of the other characters from this series. It seems like Ms Maas has decided to let us get to know these characters just in time for the final showdown. A smart move on her part. The books are so much more personal now. I am truly heartbroken for these characters at the end of this book and I can't wait to see them again in the final book of this series.
